For years, a life can be shaped around responsibility: work to complete, family to protect, and embodied roles that become identities. When those structures change and life takes a sudden turn, freedom does not always feel liberating. Sometimes it feels like standing at the edge of something vast, without knowing what to do.
Permission to Live follows the coastline through solitude, erosion, and open space. These photographs consider what remains when a person is no longer defined solely by whom they serve. Reinvention begins with an permission: to build a home, recover an identity, and pursue a life that belongs to you.
