Metsti Mag is an independent magazine that explores feminine culture through art, literature, psychology, ritual, history, fashion, the body, and the ways women have understood themselves and their worlds.
Our name comes from the Salvadorian, Nawat word for Moon. Metsti, a symbol of cycles, transformation, illumination and return.
Metsti began from a simple observation: women’s lives have been interpreted for centuries, often by people other than women themselves. Our bodies have been studied incompletely. Our knowledge dismissed as superstition. Our anger pathologized. Our labor overlooked. Our power feared. And throughout history, women who existed outside the mold have frequently been called dangerous, improper, hysterical, unnatural—or worse.
We have passed knowledge between generations. We have made art, raised communities, developed remedies, written stories, questioned authority, studied the human mind, created rituals, preserved traditions, and found one another in classrooms, workshops, salons, covens, and smut clubs ;-).

Liz Eclair is the founder and editor-in-chief of METSTI MAG.
She holds bachelor’s degrees in Theatre Arts and Dance and Psychology, as well as a Master of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Child and Developmental Psychology. Her curiosity centers on how people transform, preserve knowledge, and understand their relationship to one another and the world around them.
Through Metsti Mag, she explores feminine culture alongside a growing curiosity about Indigenous histories, living traditions, ancestral knowledge, and the ways of knowing that have endured despite colonization and erasure. Her work is rooted in the curiosity of a descendant of the Lenca and Nawat-Pipil—asking what survived, what was lost, and what is still living. Rather than claiming these traditions as her own, she seeks to recognize their continued presence, listen to the people who carry them, and create space for perspectives too often pushed to the margins.
She curates articles about women, culture, transformation, the sacred, and the unseen. And always with the belief that there is more than one way to understand what it means to be human.
